Very Rare Atlas Gray Galaxy Convertible
This is a really rare Atlas painted bumper Galaxy convertible in gray with brown interior. The maroon one is rare also and is more widely known. I have only seen 3 of these. There is an issue with the area in front of the glass on the hood. It is lighter in color and I believe it was worked on. Other than that area the body and all the paint is real nice. It has the driver and the correct glass for the car. Screw posts are good. It has a running standard Atlas chassis with the correct gray wheels. The rear body weight is there. It would display very well. This would be a highlight car to any Atlas or any slot car collection. Cond 7.5

This is a Marusan from Japan Pontiac Grand Prix convertible. The body is Atlas but this one was only sold in Japan under the Marusan name. It is light yellow with tan rugs and black seats. The reason you can tell it is a Marusan is the convertible boot is tan. Atlas always used black in the US. The driver is red with a white hat. The windshield is perfect with no glue stains. The bumpers have real nice chrome on them and the body is like new. It has an original and running Marusan chassis with the correct wheels and original Marusan tires that are still soft and not dried up and hard. It comes with the rear guide pin and the original box and plastic case. There is no ID label on the case though. The box is in poor condition with wear to it and one end flap has a tear in it. The cases hinges are all there but they fit together very loose. The original sponge insert comes with the car and is red. This is a very rare car in the US and would make a great addition to any Atlas / Marusan collection. It would display perfect. Cond 9+

There is a thin hairline crack in the lower back panel and on the roof on the driver side before the rear window. Both have been worked on but you can see the lines. This tells me the body is brittle but if the chassis is never removed and the car is for display only nothing will happen. The chassis is a Marusan is complete and it runs. It has new tires on it also. It comes in its original case with the label on it. Both rear hinges have a piece broken off so the top cover doesn't lock onto the lower half. The front lock is good and keeps the cases lined up. It will display very well but it is for display only. Cond 7.

Marusan from Japan Ferrari GTO in red with white stripes. Eldon also made this body. No issues with the body paint and chrome. It is real nice. The traction weight is in the body. The chassis is a complete and running Marusan with new tires and great wheels. It comes with its original case sponge and label. The case cover has a crack in it. It will display very well. Marusan Japan 1/32 Porsche 904 Slot Car
From 1960's Japan is this Marusan 1/32 slot car of a Porsche 904 GT. It is still factory sealed in its original box. The body is gray in color. All the paperwork is there and the box has this flip open lid that shows a diagram of the car and all the parts. The inner box and the sealed parts are in great condition. Nothing has been opened. Everything is sealed. The outer box is in poor condition with two corners torn open and a lot of the print faded. The top cover that has the photo has a crease in it but for its age it will still display well. This item is pretty rare especially in the US and would make a great addition to any slot car collection. Cond 8+.

Marusan Indiana-Polis Motorized Indy Race Car
 
Not a slot car but very cool. Marusan from Japan battery powered 1960's style Indy race car. Mistakenly spelled Indiana-Polis instead of Indianapolis. I believe this car was made in the 60's also. I have seen two other models like this and they didn't have the electric motor. This one does not have one either so I assume it was sold separately.  Everything else is present and all the parts are still bagged. Motor gears and case, decal sheet, axles, wiring, electrical connectors, tires and all body parts. It even comes with a tube of glue from Japan, the inspectors ID tag and a pamphlet of Marusan items. All paperwork is in Japanese so I don't know the date but it is old. The box is in very good shape with a few creases but no tears. The lower part of the box is very good also. A very different collectible for a serious collector. Cond 8.5+.

Nichimo from Japan Datsun 240Z Motorized Model Kit
 
This is a rare model kit from Japan made by Nichimo. It is a Datsun 240Z replica. The scale is 1/28th. It is new. Never been assembled. All the parts are still bagged. The kit is complete right down to the tube of glue that comes with it. Instruction sheet is all in Japanese so I don't know the exact date but believe it was in the 70's. This car is motorized and runs on batteries. The front wheels steer and can be locked in a fixed position. The decal sheet is also included. Body is a molded light orange or a pumpkin color. The box is just about mint with no stains or tears. There is a small crease in the top right corner that you can hardly see. Great for a Datsun240Z owner to have as a collectible. Great for a modeler. Display it or build it. It is a very rare item. Cond 8.5.

Nichimoco Toyota 2000 GT Model/Slot Car Kit
 
Nichimoco 1/24th scale model of a Toyota 2000 GT. Nichimoco is a famous car model company in Japan. This kit is a model but can be converted into a slot car. It comes with gears, axles and electrical connections to do this but there is no motor. This kit is brand new. All parts are still sealed in their bags. Rare item. I don't know when it was made as the instructions are in Japanese. Cond 10.

The Collector's Guide to Atlas HO Slot Cars - Second Edition
 

New 2023 Second Edition book documenting Atlas’ HO line of slot cars from the 1960’s.  The guide concentrates on body and roof color variations, but also lists interior colors and wheel well variations for the more serious collector.  Over 300 cars pictured.  External body modifications are depicted in close-up photos for the appropriate cars.  Includes chassis guide with photos, production dates and rarity ratings.

The Japanese Marusan and Mexican Ledy brands related to the Atlas family also have their own sections.  At least one example of each Marusan and Ledy body style is pictured.

Size:  8.5 x 11 inches.  Forty full color pages.

It was quite a challenge obtaining photos for some of the rare Atlas, Marusan and Ledy cars.  Many generous collectors donated photos making this guide possible.  Several cars have never previously been listed in a collector’s guide.  Great reference for anyone who collects vintage HO scale slot cars.
